SESSION SEVEN | PURPOSE: LIVE TO GIVE

You don’t truly own anything - you steward everything.

We live in a world that constantly tells us to get more, keep more, protect more. More money. More stuff. More comfort. But the Kingdom of God flips that mindset upside down. God doesn’t bless you just so you can build a bigger life. He blesses you so you can be a bigger blessing. Everything you have—your time, your talent, your treasure—was never meant to stop with you. It was meant to flow through you. If all you ever do is hold onto what God has given you, you’ll miss the joy of what it means to truly live.

Because you don’t come alive when you accumulate… You come alive when you give.

Today is about shifting from ownership… to stewardship. From holding back… to pouring out. From “What can I get?” to “What can I give?”

Live to Give — A Life of Generosity

Scripture Focus

“God loves a cheerful giver.” – 2 Corinthians 9:7

Devotional Thought

Generosity isn’t just something we do…

It’s who we are.

As followers of Jesus, we don’t just give occasionally—we live with open hands.
Because everything we have… was first given to us.

Time.
Talent.
Treasure.

It all comes from God.

And the question isn’t “Do I have enough to give?”
The real question is:

👉 “What kind of heart am I giving from?”

Giving from the Heart

“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart…” – 2 Corinthians 9:7

God isn’t after your money—
He’s after your heart.

Because you can give without loving…
but you can’t truly love without giving.

So pause for a moment:

👉 Why do you give?

  • Out of obligation?

  • Out of pressure?

  • Or out of gratitude and worship?

Generosity flows from a transformed heart.

Worship Through Trust

Tithing isn’t just about finances—it’s about faith.

“Bring the whole tithe… and see if I will not… pour out so much blessing…” – Malachi 3:10

Tithing is returning the first 10% to God.
Not giving leftovers… but honoring Him first.

It’s a declaration:

👉 “God, I trust You more than I trust what I can hold onto.”

Like a farmer planting seeds, you release what’s in your hand…
trusting God for what only He can grow.

And here’s the truth:

90% with God’s blessing goes further than 100% without it.

Steward What You’ve Been Given

Jesus makes it clear in the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25):

It’s not about how much you have—
it’s about what you do with it.

God has entrusted you with resources:

  • Your time

  • Your gifts

  • Your opportunities

  • Your finances

And stewardship is simply this:

👉 Managing what belongs to God… for God’s purposes.

Faithfulness in the small things prepares you for greater impact.

So ask yourself:

Am I using what I’ve been given…
to build my life—or to build His Kingdom?

Reflect His Love

“For God so loved… that He gave…” – John 3:16

God’s love is generous.
It moves. It gives. It sacrifices.

And when His love fills your heart…
it flows out of your life.

Every act of generosity—big or small—
is a reflection of Him.

  • When you give, you show His love

  • When you serve, you reflect His heart

  • When you bless others, you point people to Jesus

👉 Generosity is love in action.

Today’s Challenge

Live today with open hands:

  • Give something intentionally

  • Serve someone selflessly

  • Trust God in an area you’ve been holding back

Because generosity isn’t about what leaves your hand—
it’s about what God does through your life.

Prayer

Father, thank You for everything You’ve given me.
Help me to live with a generous heart, to trust You fully, and to steward what I’ve been entrusted with in a way that honors You.
Teach me to give freely, love deeply, and live a life that reflects Your goodness.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
