RESTART

SESSION TWO | IDENTITY: WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST

Before we get into this today, I want you to lean in for a second—because this isn’t just a good thought… this is a life-defining truth. A lot of people spend their lives trying to fix what’s broken on the outside, not realizing that Jesus already did a work on the inside.

This Scripture isn’t about behavior modification… it’s about identity transformation. And if you don’t get this right, you’ll spend your whole life trying to become someone God already says you are. So let’s look at what happens when you are truly in Christ… - Pastor Seth

Scripture

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. - 2 Corinthians 5:17

Devotional

The greatest transformation in your life will not be externalit will be internal.

When you placed your trust in Christ, you became new. Not slightly improved. Not spiritually patched up. Completely renewed. But here’s the tension: your spirit is new, yet your mind is still learning.

Old labels can linger:
Failure. Addict. Divorced. Not enough. Too much.

The enemy wants you to define yourself by your worst moment. God defines you by His greatest sacrifice. At Restoration Church we say,
“Set Free to Be.” You are not trying to become free. You already are.

Identity shapes behavior. When you believe you are loved, you live differently. When you believe you are chosen, you step forward boldly.

Today, let truth replace old labels.

Personal Reflection

What lie about my identity do I need to replace with truth?

Declaration

“I am a new creation in Christ. My past does not define me.”
