SESSION NOTES

1. The POWER of INVITATION
The Gospel moves forward through personal invitation.

People come to faith through RELATIONSHIPS

The ROLE of Every Believer (Matthew 28:19-20)

Practical Action: Who is in your circle that needs an invitation? Who are you praying for?

People aren’t looking for a perfect church; they’re looking for a PERSONAL CONNECTION

You don’t go to church. You are the church. And when you realize that, you bring the church to the people who need it most. - Craig Groeschel

The greatest form of evangelism is one-on-one relationships. - Billy Graham

CHALLENGE: Set the Tone, be the example, personal INVITE someone to church with you

2. Expecting the HOLY SPIRIT to MOVE
We don’t just invite people—we anticipate transformation.

Jesus promised His PRESENCE when we gather in His name

For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.- Matthew 18:20

Expect God TO MOVE in every service, small group, and conversation

We don’t just hope for transformation—WE EXPECT IT!

Faith SHAPES our expectation: Are we just hoping people show up, or are we expecting their lives to be changed?

The Church as a Place of Encounter:
Do we expect first-time guests?
Do we expect salvations?
Do we expect people to take next steps?

Work like it depends on you. Pray like it depends on God. - Mark Batterson

CHALLENGE: Start praying before every gathering for God to move. Be ready to respond when He does.

3. Creating a WELCOMING CULTURE
An inviting culture isn’t just about words—it’s about atmosphere.

Every guest should feel seen, valued, and expected. (Romans 12:13 – “Practice hospitality”)

People may forget the sermon, but they will never forget how they felt when they walked in.

The "One More" Mindset:
Who is the one more person we can reach?
How can we remove barriers for people to meet Jesus?

Engagement Over Attendance: It’s not just about filling seats but helping people take spiritual steps. Every volunteer role is a ministry role.

If people can’t feel God’s love through us, they won’t believe in His love for them - Pastor Steven Furtick

CHALLENGE: Greet every person like they are the answer to your prayer for "one more.”

4. Becoming INVITATIONAL PEOPLE
Invitation should be part of our daily life, not just a church strategy.

Live in a way that draws people to Jesus (Matthew 5:14-16)

SHARE YOUR STORY (John 9)

The easiest way to evangelize is to simply tell YOUR STORY.

Invitation isn’t just about Sunday—it’s about everyday moments
A text message
A coffee conversation
A social media post
A personal story shared at work

People don’t need more information about Jesus. They need an encounter with Him. - Christine Caine

CHALLENGE: This week, be intentional about inviting someone into your faith journey—whether to church, small group, or a conversation about Jesus.

5. A Church That EXPECTS REVIVAL
When we create a culture of invitation and expectation, we prepare the way for revival.

The Early Church grew because they lived this way (Acts 2:47)

We are CO-LABORERS with Christ (1 Corinthians 3:6-9)

Remove the “JUST ANOTHER SUNDAY” mindset and embrace every gathering as a divine appointment

We don’t just show up to church; we show up in expectation!

CHALLENGE: Begin each service, team huddle, or small group with prayer—asking God to move in a fresh way.

Give me one hundred men who fear nothing but sin and desire nothing but God, and I will shake the world. - John Wesley

Our Role in Expecting Life Change:
Invite Boldly
Expect Great Things
Create a Welcoming Culture
Live as an Invitation
Pray for Revival
